FIRST ROUND CONCLUDED. DEFEAT OF LEADING TEAMS. GREEN LANE'S OUTRIGHT WIN. The Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association concluded tha first round of matches in its senior grade competition at lite Domain on Saturday, when good conditions prevailed. The defeat of the leadins teams, Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys and Harbour Board, has mado the competition even inoiv, interesting. Mount Albert failed badly against the attack from Invicta, which secured a four-point win. Invicta compiled 239 in its first innings, while Mount Albert replied with 189. I'onsonby, which scored 302 tho previous week, caused a surprise by dismissing Harbour Board for 113. The latter followed on and played out time, losing six wickets for 157. Ponsonby gained a four-point win. Green Lane considerably improved its position in the championship by defeating lt.V. by an inninrs and -13 runs. Contrary to expectations, Harbour Board failed badly against I'onsonby, being dismissed for 113. Ponsonby compiled 302 the previous week.
