FEDERAL FINANCE.
ASSISTANCE BY BANK. £2,560,000 FOR LOAN COUNCIL. MELBOURNE, Feb. 5. The Commonwealth Bank Board has agreed to supply £2,560,000 asked for by the Loan Council, but only under certain conditions. These include assurances that there will be no departures from the Premiers' Plan in 1932-33, and that Western Australia and Tasmania, which have overspent their loan allocations, shall make up half the deficits before the end of th<s year. The other half is to be financed by the banks, in response to the Loan Council s request.
