BIG-GAME FISHING.

TAHITI VISITOR'S GOOD START. [BY TELEGRAPH.:— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] | RUSSELL, Friday. Another lady angjer has been extremely successful with big-game fishing. Miss H. G. Warne, of "Auckland, fishing from the launch Marlin, had an hour's fight with a 2451b. striped marlin and wa» successful in landing it. During the encounter th« fish broached a number of times and its fierce run caused the launch to go about three miles to sea. Mr. Eastham Guild, of Tahiti, who was fishing from his new launch Carrie Finn, made a splendid beginning to-day when he landed two striped marlin of 2751b. and 2151b. He lost a third swordfish which he had hooked.. A 2421b. sword-, fish was also landed to-day by Mr. C. Stewart, of Singapore, fishing from the launch Avalon. Reports from Cape Brett state that swordfish are now plentiful.
