KNOCKED DOWN BY TAXI.
MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED.
IDENTITY NOT ESTABLISHED. While crossing Karangahape Road shortly before 7.30 p.m. yesterday, a man, at present unidentified, was struck by a taxi-cab, receiving a fracture of the skull. He was conveyed by the taxi to tho Auckland Hospital. His condition at an early hour this morning was critical. The victim of the accident is about 50 years of age. Ho is slight of build and was wearing a worn navy blue suit. In his pocket was a silver cigarette case bearing the initials P.T. and on his hand was a wedding ring, with the initials P.T. or P.F. engraved inside it.
