DIET FOR RHEUMATISM.
Jn most illnesses it is important to see that the right food, and good, is eaten. Poor digestion does not help, and often makes matters worse. There are several chronic conditions which in all probability are the result of an unhealthy state of the digestive tract. Severe rheumatism, even if it is not caused by this trouble, is certainly increased by it, and sufferers should be careful what they eat. Sugar and sweet things should be avoided. Milk puddings contain too much starch, and red meat should be cut down. Fresh fruit and salads are excellent and should be taken every day. Butter, eggs and cheese are also of great value. Lastly, drink as much water as you can; it helps enormously to get rid of waste products.
