CHARGE OF STEALING BABY.
At the Hull Juvenile Offenders* Court, recently an eight-vea.rs-old girl was. remanded for a week on a charge of stealing an 11-months-old baby which had been left, by its mothtr in a perambulator oatside a shop. Her reply to the charge was " I lore babies.Tbe child was kep£ tor six hoars. The magistrate ordered tbe girl to be j medically examined Her foster-mother | had informed the police that since she had | suffered from meningitis they had had j great trouble with her. The police said that previously the girl j bad t.aJien an empty perambulator and ex- ■ changed it for a better one with a baby | in it. The child in that instance, as in j tbe present one, wa® wheeled rouuii the j shops. *
