CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD.
"DUPE OF ANOTHER MAN." s- SEAMAN SENT TO PRISON. " The police report that you were the dupe of another man," said Mr. Justice Herdman, when Robert William Kennedy, aged 26, seaman, appeared in the Supreme Court yesterday for sentence on charges of conspiracy to defraud an Auckland bank manager of £l4O and £lll, and with attempting to utter a forged cheque for £55. "Prisoner's counsel said he had got into bad company after coming out of prison previously. His Honor said he would tako info account that accused was not the principal party and that he had given every assistance to the police. -Accused was sentenced to imprisonment for 12 months' with hard labour.
