PRIMARY PRODUCERS.
ONE FEDERATION URGED.
FARMERS* UNION SUGGESTION.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A proposal that all the primary indus tries in New Zealand should be repreiiented in one organisation, to be known as the Primary Producers' Federation, was referred to by the Dominion execn tive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union to-day. It was' suggested that there should be no interference with the working of the present organisation, which would discuss all matters referred to it, but all matters relating to national finance, rating, taxation, industrial affairs, the marketing of produce, and unemployment, should be submitted to the Primary Producers* Federation executive for consideration. That executive would then forward its decisions to the Government, as representing the views of the primary producers of the Dominion. A proposal was made that the executive should represent the Farmers Union, the Sheep Farmers' Federation, the Dairy Farmers Federation, the truitgrowers' Federation, the PoultryKeepers' Association, the Flax Producers Association, the Honey Producers' Association, and the Pig Breeders' Association. The matter was referred to a committee, which was authorised to proceed as it thinks fit. • - .
