ALLEGED BAG-SNATCHING.
CONTRADICTORY EVIDENCE. ACCUSED FOUND NOT GUILTY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. In the Supreme * Court to-day John Augustus Jeanes was found not guilty of a charge of snatching a bag containing a cheque for £54 and cash amounting to £2O from Miss G. M. Evans.
The foreman of the jury said the evidence was somewhat contradictory and the jury had decided to give accused the benefit of the doubt.
