OPERATIC SOCIETY.

FAREWELL TO PRODUCER. Thf affection and esteem with which Mr. Theodore Tresize is regarded by the members of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society was fully demonstrated I art evening when the "gipsy" Ipa was held prior to his departure on Saturday for Enjriand. where he will take a position as director and producer at- Elstree Studios. Mr. F. E. de Guerrier. president. of the society, in presenting Mr. Tresize with a handsome cigarette case on behalf of the members, extended to him the appreciation of the members for his excellent services as producer for the society during the past ten years. He wished him every success in his new venture. Further tributes to Mr. Tresize# were paid by Mr. Colin Muston. musical director for the society, Mr. U. P. Leary and Miss Gladys Fowler, president. of the social committee. Mr. Tresize briefiv responded. Humorous items bv Mr." Carl Prime and Mr Dan Flood were very much enjoyed, and the evening concluded with dancing. Among those present were Mrs. G. C.
