Making the running after crossing the first fence, he shook off determined challenges by Airtight and Callapat. Royal Acre went a fair race. The Swell lost his rider at the third, fence, but he has possibilities as a jumper.

Barbacan tried to win tins Juvenile Handicap ail the way, but Merry Way, La Crown, Glowlight and Chief Marionette were handy at the home turn. La Crown was clear at the half distance, when Chief Marionette came with a strong run, failing by only half a head (o catch La Crown. Merry Way and Barbacan stopped badly.

Arikira, fartfurife in an even betting race, won the E;:mont Jubilee Cup in most convincing fashion in record time for the course. He left the field standing in tlie last ~>o yards. Shrewd and Monaloff carried the field along at a soiid pace, with Chopin and Calamine, both of whom were cut out at the start, bringing up the rear. Arikira Was alwaya handily placed on the rails behind the lenders. Chopin made a sharp forward move along the back and was outside tbr?e horses crossing tho top, where Arikira, Banbridgf* and Chopin were a length and a-hitlf behind Shrewd and MohnI"ff. Inside the distance, Arikira challenged and sunn gathered in the leaders, going away to win by two and a-half lengths .with Shrewd a neck ahead of Monaloff. . Calamine, i3;mbridge.
