FILLING*FOR MATTRESSES. Though wool is riot, used for .stuffing mattresses to any extent in Great, Britain, it has a wide, application for that purpose en the Cont fnent. Bradford sends 10,000,0001b. of 'prepared mattress wool to Italy alone every year. According to Mr. Glyn Thomas, vice-president of the National Federation of Bedding and Allied Trades, the only wool suitable for the particular trade is grown within the British Isles, particularly in Scotland, and Bradford has the only machinery which can handle the material in the few processes through which it has to pass.
