HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. FAIR AND WARMER. 'J'lio following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Tropical influences are still pronounced north-westward of tlio Dominion, and barometric pressure remains fairly low over the North Island. Indications favour fair to fine weather, with warmer temperatures in most districts, but scattered showers arc indicated in the north, and cloudiness will increase generally. Variable and moderate breczos, northerly winds prevailing and freshening. Seas moderate. Local outlook: Fair and warmer, with increasing cloudiness for a change to follow 6hortly. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 29.85 in. Midnight, Tuesday .. ~ 29.80 in. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 82deg.; Minimum, 59deg. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Pressure distribution is still very complicated, with the exception of an area of relatively high pressure in the north Tasnian Sea. Barometers are everywhere low. A rather deep depression is passing to the southward this evening. Indications are for variable winds, with northerlies prevailing at first and strong in tlio far south; later a change to freshening southerlies extending gradually over t lie Dominion. Seas smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasnian Sea: Moderato to strong southerly winds prevailing; se;is smooth to moderate, but increasing. Weather fair lo fine, hazy and warm generally at first, but some scattered showers, more especially in eastern and far southern districts, with a southerly change. RAINFALL RECORD.
