Whpn Mr. Joseph Widener opens the Hialeah race track here on Thursday it will not only be one of (he world's most beautiful tracks, but will have a patch of .Australia in it. This monument to horse racing, with, a magnificent paddock, a. gorgeous clubhouse and marvellous landscaping, is provided with a. background of 800 Australian pines which circle the outside of the course, while 8500 smaLler Australian pines were planted for hedges. For the first time in America, the Australian typo of totalisator will be used at a track for betting. It is believed to be more accurate and more honest than the Parimutuel system, in vogue under the Florida law; legalising betting.
