ASSISTING THE PRODUCERS. SUCCESS IN RESEARCH WORK;. Arrangements for the disbursement of £650 granted by the Government and the Unemployment Board for assisting gum producers in necessitous circumstances were confirmed at the monthly meeting of the Kauri Gum Control Board. The arrangement provides • that "■ small quantities of gum are purchased'outright, or small advances,, npt limited to 50 per cent, of value, ars made against gum placed in the "hands of the board for sale and for which a buyer cannot at present be found. A return from the Customs Department showed the export of gum for, November to be as follows: — Destination. Tonnage F. 0.8. Tons. Vame. United Kingdom . . One application was objected to as file area still contained gum in pay- ' able quantities.
