AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. MEETING AT THE DOMAIN. Big fields and fast timea characterised the first evening meeting of the Mount Albert , Grammar Old Boys' Amateur Athletic Club held at the Domain last evening, before a large attendance of the public. The track was in excellent condition and good times were returned throughout the meeting. A. J. Elliott showed a return to his very best form and sprinted brilliantly to win both his heat and the final of the 100 yds. handicap in 10s dead. Close finishes were tho order, and only inches separated the placed men in each event. N. F. Cooper gained the lead early in the last lap of the mile and won comfortably from J. W. Savidan, with Campbell in third place. A very large field started in tho 4-lOvds.. with the result that there was a lot of jostling on tho bends. L. Meredith, the scratch man, gained the lead entering the straight, but could not withstand challenges from Mars and Finlayson and ;va9 beaten into third place. Tn a spectacular contest the Auckland Club team again won the 410 yds relay in 4fi 3-sh. with Technical second and Mount Albert third. Two cycling events, a one mile handicap, nnd a three miles handicap, were also held. F. J. Grose, tho well-known Canterbury cyclisi, competing. Following were the results:— IQOYds.
