NEWTON PLAYGROUND.
Tho Auckland Education Board was informed by the city engineer at yesterday's meeting that in connection with a proposal to form a .children's playground in Newton it bad been 'suggested that the board might" relinquish tho old Newton East school sito for that purpose. Ihe secretary was authorised to explain to i City Council that <bo school- was being regularly used for the holding of sp and manual classes.
