MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT.

COMPANIES IN NORTH. DISTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPLIERS. [BT TEI.EGRAFH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANG-AREI, Wednesday. The Whangarci Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, to-day made advance payments to ;;uppliers at the rate of per lb. superfine and lOd per lb. standard for December supplies. The amount distributed among suppliers to-day is £25,973, and the amount of butter manufactured for the month was 335 tons. For the corresponding month last season the pay-out was £2l,f 158 and the output 278 tons. The rate of payment was the same. The Hikurangi Dairy Company, Limited, lias to-day made an advance payment for December supplies of butter-fat at the rate of 10£ d per lb. superfine. lOd per lb. first grade anl 9d per lb. for second grade. These advances will absorb £18,215. as compared with £16,129 for the corresponding month of last year, when the rates of advance, were lid, and 9jd per lb., an increr.se of £2086. In addition, the company is making an interim payment of per :ib. on supplies received in June and July, and 4*d per lb. on the August supply this season. The" output to the end of December, 1931, shows an increase of 13 per cent, over that for the corresponding period of last season. The season to date is considered ii this district- quite a good one. Although the weather hns been dry and warm for some weeks the district has experienced on several occasions a phenomenal fall of rain during a few hours, which has helped maintain the pastures. The Springhead Dairy Company, Limited, to-day made an advance payment to suppliers ''at the rate of 9d per lb. superfine butter fat, BAd per lb. first grade and 8d per lb. second grade. The d: rectors of the Maungatapere Dairy Company have decided to pay out on February 20 the surplus now received over the advance payments on butter-fat supplied during May, June, July and August, 1931. This deferred payment of lid per lb. will bring the. total payment to suppliers over the four months up to 12£ d per lb.
