INDIAN TRAIN WRECKS.

TWO CASES OF SABOTAGE. SAFETY MEASURE TAKEN. CALCUTTA, Dec. 24. Following the second case of sabotage on the Indian railways within four days, the railways authorities have decided to run petrol engines in front of expresses and mail trains to and from Calcutta on the East Indian railway. Passengers in the Denapore express, which was derailed at 3 a.m. by train wreckers, paid great tributes to the driver, whose immediate application of the vacuum brakes saved the train from rolling down the embankment. The mishap occurred 100 miles from Calcutta, when the train was travelling at 20 miles an hour. The engine and nine carriages were derailed. The driver, overcome with emotion, was found seated on the tracks, with tears coursing down his cheeks, when the passengers rushed out. Examination, showed that fishplates had been removed. No one was injured.
