MYSTERY OF LAUNCH.
MORE WRECKAGE FOUND. DISCOVERY ON WEST . COAST. [EY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.J VTAIUKU, Monday. The name of the launch, part of the wreckage of which was found on ihe west coast at Maioro yesterday, has now been definitely identified as Ramona. Further wreckage was discovered to-day, bearing the remainder of the lettering" of the" name. To-day's discovery comprised the complete forward raised decking of the launch still attached to the top of the bow. The decking was 7ft. 6in. long, and across the widest part measured about 6ft. In it was an open hatch, \about' 14in. square, and a stout bollard about- sin. square. The construction appeared to be heavy enough for a 30ft. launch. Four planks, with portions of rib attached, were also discovered in the vicinity. It is clear from the wreckage that above the waterline the boat was painted white with green headings. Below the waterline the colour was red. Boatmen on the- Waikato River, who were questioned, did not know of any boat of the name on the river. The wreckage has the appearance of having recently been torn from the hull by the waves.
