Glen Afton-Pukemiro. —Mrs. G. Molonej gave a short account of the activities pro posed by tho new Waikato Federation al a recent meeting of tlie Institute, aftci which Mrs. J. Ban' reported on the annua conference. Tho prize for plain scone: was won bv Mrs. D. W. Thomas, wliilt Mrs. Peden won tho prize for girdle scones Xnrso llogerson, gave a very intcrestiiif talk on " Tho Normal Baby." Song: and recitations wore contributed by Nnrsi Rogerson and Sister Bach, after whicl community singing brought a very success ful evening to a close. lvaipara Flats.—At the annual meetirij of tho Institute, Mrs. Brott was re-electei president and Miss Breeso as secretary aivl treasurer. The following form tin committee :—Mesdames Linton, Gubb Johnston, Brighouse, Saba. Thomson Jilcs, Coley, Dill, Oldfield and Miss Mori son. The hostesses were Mesdames Lin ton and Gubb. Katiio.—At a meeting of the Institute vocal items were given by Mesdames An drews, Boyd and Miss Whit email. Mrs Moroney played pianoforte selections, smocking demonstration was given by Mrs Edge. After tho annual report am balance sheet were dealt with tho follow ing oflicers and committee were apointed —President, Mrs. Lambden, vice-presi dents, Mrs. Dane and Mrs. Hill; secretary Mrs. Davis; treasurer, Mrs. Parnell; com mitteo, Mis. Burrctt, Miss Yule, Mrs Bull and Mrs. Farley. Hostesses wer Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Cole and Mrs. McCall Marcretu.—'Tho monthly meeting of th Institute was held at the residence ol Mrs Edwards. A competition, "the best articl made from a sugar bag," was won by Mrs Appleyard, and the roll call "Idea for ai inexpensive Xmas present," brought fort! many interested and original suggestions Tho hostesses for afternoon tea were Mes dames Edwards, Codric,- Jenkins, Levy Buiko and Miss Dorothy Bull. Orini.—The annual meeting the Orini Institute was hold last week. Ihe following officers were elected : —President, Mrs. A. Lornie; vice-presidents, Mesdames W, Preest and Cairns; secretary, Mrs. 11. J. Wiltshire; treasurer, Mrs. A. Austen; executive committee. Mesdames Seath, Carswell, Dryden, Misses 11. Houghton and Ronnie. It was decided that the institute would not meet in January and that instead of the usual meeting in the hall a picnic would be held in Mr. Seath s bush in February. The hostesses for the afternoon were Misses H. ltennie, H. Houghton and L. Ryo.
