COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS. The following resolution has been passed by the IYA Musical, Dramatic and Sports Advisory Committee:—'! The committee regrets that the broadcasting of copyright plays is still disallowed. Ibis embaigo limits the choice of producers to local efforts, old or inferior plays, and has debarred from the air the carefully-cast and smoothly-rehearsed work of local dramatic societies. The result, is to decrease considerably I lie pleasure and entertainment to bo derived front the broadcasting of plays. The public is crying out for modern plays, dealing with problems, events and humour of tho day. " The committee therefore urges that the question of copyright restrictions be treated as of extreme urgency, and trusts that the controlling authorities will leave no stone unturned, even if it involves making reasonable concessions, to reach a _ satisfactory compromise. Any information as to past negotiations or difficulties will be welcomed by 1 he committee. Copies of the resolution have been sent, to the present company and to tho new controlling authorities.
