BOXING CONTESTS.
LISTER BEATS TIERNEY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] BLENHEIM, Sunday. The professional boxing contest between" Harry Lister (Greymouth), list 711b, and Joe Tierney _ (Blenheim), 12st 101b, last" evening, ended in a technical knock-out victory for Lister in the 15th round. , The bout had more thrills than usually characterise!, a professional contest. Tierney, who was making his first appearance as a professional, made the early fighting, but over the concluding rounds Lister h*d a lead on points. He sent Tierney down four times before the end. Tom _ Croft, New Zealand middle-weight champion, defeated Aleo Dasler, Blenheim, in a good fight.
