A NEW IDEA.

Dear Miss Morton I'm a' thoughtin' That 'twould be a good idea Just to have a page for insects And such creatures, once a year. Yes, I'm knowing That you're throwing Contributions fast away, That you really couldn't print all If you published every day. That you wouldn't—really shouldn't Introduce a subject new, For the children overwhelm you With the clever work they do! And I'm fearing There'll be sneering At my subject, yet I know That a bee—or a mosquito Can cause eloquence to flow ! So I'm praying That you're saying •" Well, perhaps a page we'll fill." It will "sure" be interesting! Dear Miss Morton—say you will! (The above amusing little rhyme is from an unknown poet. The idea of an Insects' Page is certainly novel, but I am afraid in this instance I shall have to sav " I won't!")
