LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
CHARITY DAY PROGRAMME. SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. TEAMS FOR SPECIAL MATCHES. A varied awl attractive programme of events hns been arranged by the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League for its charity day at Carlaw Park on Saturday, tho not proceeds from which will go to the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Tho features of tho afternoon's entertainment will be a seven-a-side football tournament. an old-timera' football match, a referees versus fet. John Ambulance football game, a club relay the 100 yards senior club championship a display by the St. John Ambulance Brigade. The Waterside Workers' band will be in attendance at the ground from two o'clock onward. The running events will be held under the control of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club and competitors will be required to wear ordinary football attire, that is, football boots, jerseys and shorts. Following is the programme for the day, the football matches mentioned, with the exception of the special games, being seven-a-side contests:—
1.30 p.m.—Referees v. St. John Ambulance. No. 1 ground; Ellerslie A v. Ellerslie B, No. 2 ground. 2 p.m.—Richmond v. Marist, No. 2 ground; Newton B v. Ponaonby, No. 2 ground.
2.25 p.m.—Newton A v. City, No. 1 ground; winners of Ellerslie A and B match v. Devonport, No. 2 ground. 2.50 p.m.—Old Timers' Match, No. 1 ground. SJ.IO p.m.—First heat of 100 yards race. 3.ls.—Second heat of 100 yards race.
3.20 p.m.—Third heat of 100 yards race 0.25. —Semi-finals of seven-a-side tourna ment, on No. 1 and No. 2 grounds. 3.50 p.m.—Relay rare. 4 p.m.—St. John Ambulance display. 4.20 p.m.—Final of 100 yards champion ship.
4.30 p.m.—Final of seven-a-side tourney. Rhodes (Devonport), Munce, Thomas (City). The following teams will take part in tho old timers' match : " Opai" Asher's Team.—T. Shean, T. Avery. McKubrey, E. Asher, J. Rukutai, A. Asher, B. The following team will represent the St. John Ambulance Brigade in its match with the referees:—W. Groom, McMillan, Nicholson, Ryan. Watts. Polkinhorne, Matthews. Reid. Jamieson, McCall, Dixon, Glynn, Jackson. Emergencies: Stow, Hadaway, Grogan.
