PROHIBITION AMENDMENT.
VIEW OF AMERICAN LABOUR. VANCOUVER, Oct. 16. '1 ho American Federation of Labour at its annual convention here reaffirmed its stand for the legalisation of beer with 2.75 per cent, alcoholic strength in the coming session of Congress. Two motions attempting to obtain tho federation's support for the repeal of tho Volstead Act and the 18th Amendment were defeated. The president, Mr. William Green, the secretary, Mr. Frank Morrison, the treasurer, Mr. Martin Ryan, and eight vicepresidents were unanimously re-clected.
