PUPUKE GOLF CLUB.

THE ANNUAL BALL. One of tho most successful balls held this season on 11 ic North Shore took place at (lie Pirate Ship, Milford, on Saturday evening when tho Pupukc Golf Club held its fourth annual ball. The music was supplied by Bolton's orchestra and the new dance numbers were repeatedly encored. Supper was served upstairs where the long tables were arranged with brass bowls of yellow and autumn shaded ranunculi. The combined committee, with Mr. L. G. Mackenzie as secretary, had worked hard to make the function the success which it proved to be. The two decks were used for dancing and hanging baskets of ferns and roses looked most attractive under the colourful lighting effects which were reflected from shaded domes in the ceiling.
