INTER-CLUB CONTEST. TITIRANGI DEFEATS AUCKLAND. fr CLOSE RESULT AT MIDDLEMORE. Ideal conditions prevailed for the return match played at Middlemore on Saturday between learns representing tho Auckland and Tilirangi Golf Clubs, the latter winning by 12 games to 11, ono being all square. The course was in excellent order and a Bteady southerly wind made most of the holes very interesting. At the conclusion of the match the captain of the Auckland Club, Mr. H. B. Lusk, handed the trophy competed for annually by the two clubs to Mr. IT. Rogerson. captain of the Titirangi Club. The trophy, a mug, was presented last year by Mr. S. J. Hanna. Mr. Lusk congratulated the Titirangi Club on its success, this being the first time it had won at Middlemore since the inter-club matches were commenced in 1913.
