LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AUCKLAND COLTS TEAM. The following players will represent the Auckland colts in the Rugby League match against Eastern Suburbs at Carlaw Park on Wednesday:—fullback, L. Simons; threequarters, Meehan, Mincham and L. Scott; five-eighths, C. Dunn and A. Smith; halfback, ' Hassan; forwards, Simpson, St. George, H. Lunn, Carter. Leatherbarrow and E. Scott.. Reserves: Olliff, P. Young, McLeay, Iveson, R. Jones and Lawless. Players are requested to meet at Carlaw Park at 5.30 p.m. to-day and to notify Mr. E. Asher if .they are unavailable. The following mid-week players are requested to practice at Carlaw Park this evening with a view to choosing a team to play Waterside Workers, which won the mid-week competition:—Davies, Hammond, Crook (Nicholson Park), Maher, Reynolds, Turner, Mills. J. Purdie, Porteous (City Markets), Chapman, J3'owen (Town Board Rovers), 43mith. Munce, Graham (Stonex and Stormont's), Burrell, Gregson and Hawkes (Railway Loco.). The match will be played as a curtain-raiser to Wednesday's match. The match between the Wednesday and junior representatives of the Auckland Rugby League, played at Carlaw Park op Saturday, resulted in a win for the former by 23 points to 6. The game was fast and open, both sides throwing the ball about well. CHARITY DAY POSTPONED. The /Auckland Rugby League's annual Charity Day was to have been held next Saturday, but it has been postponed for a week on account of the Labour Day weekend. The' programme will consist of a eeven-a-side tournament, athletic events, a natch between the St. John Ambulance nr.d the referees, in addition to other items.
