YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—There was an improvement in the weather conditions yesterday. The day was fine, but a boisterous south-west wind was blowing in the morning. After being steady at 29.55 in. for 12 hours until early yesterday morning, the barometer rose throughout the day and registered 30.00 in. last night. Wellington.—Light but steady rain fell yesterday. It eased off during the afternoon and was succeeded by a heavy mist. There was a very light wind from tho south. Christchurch.—After rain overnight and early yesterday morning the sky cleared and tho greater part of the day was sunny and warm. In the late afternoon the wind changed from south-west to north-east, and the sky clouded over. The maximum temperature was 56 degrees. The barometer stood at 29.87 in. Dunedin.—The weather was agsin fine and sunny yesterday, with a fresh breeze from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 65 degrees. The barometer fell during the day and registered 29.75 in« in the evening.
