LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. f . AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL TITLE. 4 QUALIFYING ROUNDS TO-DAY. The tenth annual Auckland ladies' provincial open golf championship and handicap tournament will commence at the Middlemore links to-day. Tho first qualifying round for tho championship, Middlemore Cup, and medal handicap will he played in conjunction this morning, commencing at 8.45 o'clock. Tho second round will ho played 111 tho afternoon, play commencing about mid-day. The entries aro quite good, being about tho Bfirno as in previous years. There are usually one or two outside entrants, but they aro purely local on this occasion. This ia accounted for by the fact that, a tournament at Palmerston North clashes with tho Auckland fixture. The Auckland tournament, will extend over three dayr:. The first round for the championship, the Middlemore Cup and a handicap bogey match will bo played tomorrow morning, while in the afternoon the second round for the championship and the Middlemore Cup will be decided. The semi-finals for thf championship and Middlemore Cup, together with a medal foursomes, will constitute the morning's play on Friday, while the finals will be held in the afternoon.
