COLLECTION OF CREAM.
DAIRY COMPANY'S ECONOMY. DECISION AT PAPATOETOE. "No man can tell what the next few months will bring forth, and is is essential that we reduce costs to the lowest possible point," remarked Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of the directors the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, in addressing suppliers to the Papatoetoe bulking station a. a meeting in the Town Hall, Papatoetoe. last evening. The meeting was convened to discuss, the company's proposal to close the local bulking station and in future to send the" cream to the Mount Eden factory. Mr. Fulton, in giving details of the cost of operating the Papatoetoe station stated that the proposed change would result in a teaving to suppliers of per lb butter-fat. The present cartage contracts would continue for their respective periods. During last season 268.0001b of cream were handled at the local bulking station. . It was stated that at a meeting held in Manurewa that afternoon the suppliers there had agreed to supply the Mount Eden factory as from October 21, On the motion of Mr. W. T. S. Wilson it was unanimously agreed to close the local creamery on October 21. A vote or appreciation of the services of Mr. J. Poulter, the manager, was carried.
