YESTERDAY'S AUCTIONS. NO OUTSTANDING CHANGES. All lines of apples met with a fair demand at the Auckland City Markets yesterday. Pears sold at about last week's rates. There was only a fair inquiry for tree tomatoes, while grapes, mandarines and lemons were slow of sale. Island oranges met with a keen demand, there being a fair inquiry for Australian oranges. Ripe Island tomatoes- showed a slight drop in values. Ripe bananas were in short supply and brought fairly high prices. Bananas ex the Tofua made about 16s a case. The field produce market was- heavily supplied with celery, cabbage and beans. <; There were also good stocks of cauliflower, swedes, new potatoes and other vegetables in season. Most lines met with the usual fair demand. The values for hen and duck eggs remained unchanged. Prices for average quality lines were as follows: FRUIT.
