RETURNED SOLDIERS.
THE OTAHUHU CLUB.
QUESTION OF AFFILIATION.
The question of all sections of returned soldiers' organisations affiliating to ensure unity and co-ordination was discussed at a meeting of the Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Club on Friday evening. In a report on the recent conference held in Auckland, the president, Mr. H. L. Garland, stated that in the event of the Otahuhu Club affiliating it would have to pny a capitation fee of Is 9d each financial member per annum. The general opinion had been that 6d or 9d a member would be sufficient for ad- . . • ministration purposes. The meeting decided to ask tho Returned Soldiers' Association for a draft, of the proposed terms and conditions of affiliation and to submit this to a special general meeting of tho club.
The following officers were elected President, Mr. H. L. Garland; vice-presi-dent, Mr. H. Fearnley; secretary, Mr, A. McLaren; treasurer, Mr. J. Harrison: general committee, Messrs. Day, Hall, Lovell, Deas, Barrett and Pollard.
