DICKENS FELLOWSHIP.
BRANCH AT GISBORNE. A branch of the Dickens Fellowship has been formed at Gisborne at a meeting convened by Mr. R. Johnson. It has been agreed that for the present the new society shall meet monthly at members' residences in rotation. Next month's initial meeting is to be devoted to a study of the life of Charles Dickens. Mr. Johnson, who was elected president, has made the fellowship a gift of a collection of engravings of characters from the works of Dickens. The Gisborne society is the third branch of the Dickens Fellowship to be formed in New Zealand, the others being those in Auckland —formed in 1926—and the recently formed Christchurcb branch.
