Thought he, " that oil filter will keep jt clean, and I save a shilling or so on the gallon." . . . All went well for 300 miles, then Jones found he had to change down more often. " I'm losing power," he said, " it's time those valves were ground again." Instead of 20 miles to the gallon of benzine, Jones only got 18. .. . Yes, he'd have to get them ground—and so he did. (It cost him £2/10/-). . . . But, strange to say, that £2/10/- made very little difference. Surelv he didn't need new piston rings! He'd only gone" 8000 miles and the car was almost new. . . . And there was a bit of engine knock, and he d only half the power. Yes, he'd talk it over with Smith, who knew all about cars. Smith' tried it out, and said " That's strange, it might be the oil, but you always use the very best —HOUGHTONS." "Oh, no!" said Jones. "I changed last time and • bought some ' Special '—got to save money these hard times, you know." "That's it," said Smith, "you've thrown £2/10/away, for all you need is HOUGHTONS again. It will give you the power, save your petrol, and give your car its wings again." .. . And so it did! Remember that, Dear Readers. It's false economy to change from HOUGHTONS to effect a saving of a shilling or two. Ask Jones, he knows, but it cost him £2/10/- to find it out.
