WEDDING.

BRUSTAD—CLIFFORD. The marriage was solemnised quietly on "Wednesday afternoon at ]4, Garden Road, Fendalton, Christehurch, the home of Mr. Walter Clifford, of Miss AT;try Lucv Aroha Clifford, youngest daughter of Mr. Walter Clifford and the late Mrs. Clifford, and Mr. Alf Christoffer Rrustad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Askar Brustad, Hamar, Norway. The Rev. Father J. Cullen officiated. The rooms were profusely decorated with bowls of Iceland poppies, violets, winter roses, while prurms blossom and daisies. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an attractive long-sleeved frock of pervenehe "blue needle-run lace over blue crepe dc chine. The fitting bodice was pin-tucked at.the waist and the skirt, cut in diagonal •flares, fell in graceful folds to the ankles Her wide-brimmed felt hat toned with her frock and was trimmed with a narrow blue ribbon and she carried a posy of forget-me-nots and heather, the national fiowpr of Norway. In attendance was her sister, Mrs. I. Hilton, as matron of honour. >Sho woro an ankle-length frock of floral ninon, patterned in daffodil yellow and black flowers. The fully-flared skirt and fitting bodice were finished with a narrow belt. Her wide-brimmed hat was of lime green felt, with an underbrim of green tulle. Dr. F. H. McDowall, of Massey College, Palmerston North, was best man and Messrs. J. S. Neville, 11. Norman and B. Douglas were ushers. A reception was held afterwards in a marquee erected 011 the lawn. Bowls of Iceland poppies, violets, palms and native foliage made a bright display. Mr. Clifford received the guests, assisted by his daughter, Mrs. Hilton. Lady Clifford, aunt of the bride, wore a black cloth costume, a black and white blouse and a black straw hat. When Mr. and Mrs. Alf Brustad left on their wedding tour tho latter wore a tailored navy gossamer tweed suit flecked with white and a navy felt and straw hat with leather trimming.
