FEDERAL BANKING.
LABOUR URGES CHANGES. FIDUCIARY NOTE ISSUE. SYDNEY, Sept. 24. The Canberra correspondent of the Sydney Morning Herald says the Federal Ministry is being urged by a section of the Labour Party to reintroduce its proposals for a fiduciary note issue and revolutionary changes in the banking system. In the event of their being rejected by the Senate, the Ministry is urged to appeal to the electors immediately. A message from Canberra says the Federal Labour caucus, which is disappointed with the attitude of the bankers in not making financial provision for the absorption of the unemployed, has revived the question of the fiduciary note issue, but has deferred consideration until the position in Britain is clarified, which is expected in about a fortnight.
