ONE UP ON THE SCOTSMAN. NOT WHAT HE EXPECTED! A Scotsman who happened to be afflicted with a heavy cold and hoarseness of the throat was visiting some friends. During the evening his host looked at him and said: "By jove, old chap, you have got a deuce of a cold on you. Come with me and I'll give you Something warming which will fix you up." The Scotsman immediately acquiesced, and followed his host out of the room visions of a hot whisky in his mind. His face fell when his friend, with a twinkle in his »ye, produced from a cupboard a bottle of 14 Baxter s. He then mixed a good dose with a little hot water and gave it to the Scotsman to drink saying: "Drink this down it will do you all the good in the world. ' The sufferer did as lie was bid, and was surprised to find that, this was indeed the case. He felt much comforted and inwardly vowed to buy some " Baxter's"' for himself. This well-known specific is the favourite remedy with New Zealanders for coughs, colds, sore throats and all chest troubles. Possesses unique tonic properties, too. Baxter's Lung Preserver is obtainable at all chemists and stores; generous-sized bottle 2s 6d; economical family size 4s 6d, and bachelor's bottle Is 6d. The new screw-cap preserves the contents.—Advt.
