" SEPARATE PARLIAMENT." IDEA BEING CANVASSED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] BLENHEIM. Thursday. At a meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council, which decided that the whole counqil should take part in the proposed railway deputation to Wellington, Mr. T. B. Salmon said every effort must be made to impress Parliament with the essential nature of the line to Marlborough. Even the question as to whether the time was not lipo for the establishment of a separate Parliament for the South Island was being canvassed, he said, and had a surprising number of supporters. Of course, it was not a matter for the council to discuss, tjit, the fact was interesting as stressing Marlborough's earnestness on the railway question.
