RECENT HURRICANE.
SITUATION IN HAND. BRAVE PEOPLE OF BELIZE. (Received September 17, 6.5 p.m.) British RUGBY, Sept. 16. A telegram received by the Colonial Secretary, Mr. J. H. Thomas, from the Governor of British Honduras, regarding the Belize hurricane disaster, reportß that the situation is well in hand. He estimates the total deaths at 1000. Medical men and supplies are adequate. The people have shown an excellent spirit and it has not been necessary to declare martial law.
