Rest of England, at tho Oval, the latter in their second innings made 290 runs for nine wickets (declared). Jardine scored 104 and Wyatfc 57. Verity took four wickets for 48. Yorkshire in their second innings made 36 for one wicket. The match was drawn. Jardine declared in time to enable Sutcliffe to make the 25 runs necessary to complete his 3000 for the season, and that bat6inan reached 3006.
