NEW ZEALAND DIVISION.
IMPERIAL MEN AFFECTED. CUT COMING FOR OTHERS. Cable advice has been received from the British Admiralty ordering a reduction in the pay of .'ill Imperial ratings serving on warships in New Zealand waters. The cut affects approximately 200 officers and men, confined to H.M.S. Laburnum and H.M.S. Veronica. The members of the crow of H.M.S. Dioinede, who belong to the Now Zealand Division of tins Royal Navy, are paid by the New Zealand Government, and are not affeded by tho reduction, although it is expected that thpir pay will bo subjected to a 10 per cent, cut similar to the Civil Servicij cut, in the not very remote future. Tha other worship in tho New Zealand Division, H.M.S. Dunedin, is row in England being refitted. The Imperial ratings have already been informed of tho reductions ordered from Home, and the announcement lias been received philosophically. It is estimated that over 50 por cent, of the men are married, .and that many of the single men support relatives at Home.
