SLEEPERS FOR RAILWAYS.
LARGE SHIPMENT ARRIVES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION-] "WELLINGTON, Thursday. A full cargo of railway sleepers is on board the motor-ship Myrtlebank, which arrived at Wellington this afternoon from Western Australia. The vessel carries 7000 tons of jarrah railway sleepers, of which 6000 tons will be discharged into railway trucks at Wellington, and the l-emaining 1000 tons at Auckland. The Wellington portion" o£_ the ship's cargo is said to comprise 90.000 of ordinary size and 15,000 crossing sleepeis, which are double-length pieces. No information is available regarding the ultimate destination of this large cargo, but it is said that a portion at least is for the Tawa Flat deviation.
