ROWDY STUDENTS.
INTERRUPTION OF A PLAY. Disorderly behaviour by a largo number of university students at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth, Western Australia, lately, prevented the audience from hearing a short play produced by the students at an entertainment to raise money for the Lord Mayor's unemployment relief fund. For about 20 minutes the students maintained a disturbance and continued to throw from the gallery and dress circle on to the stage eggs, tomatoes and vegetables'. A lobster in an advanced stage of decomposition landed in the orchestral pit. The floor of the stage was in such a dirty condition at the end of tho play that 10 or 15 minutes was occupied in cleani/ig it beforo the rest of the programme was begun. An appeal for better conduct resulted in quietness, but « carrot was occasionally thrown on th» stage.
