GOLDEN PROGRESS REPORT. Golden Progress Quartz Mining Company, Ltd. (Central Otago), reports as follows for August:—The battery was run for 21 days of eight hours during the anonth and a partial clean-up was made for 21707„ of gold of an approximate value of £9OO. Samples taken from the pulp oil sand tailings during this run revealed Uiat the plates are not doing all that could be desired, as the give 15dwt. 16gr. of gold a ton.
