AVIATION EXHIBITION.
AUCKLAND CLUB'S DISPLAY. PORTRAITS OF FAMOUS AIRMEN. An aviation exhibition of interest to all flying enthusiasts has been organised by the Auckland Aero Club at the premises of Milne and Choyce, Limited, Queen Street, and will be opened by the president, Mr. Spencer Mason, this afternoon. An extremely wide range of exhibits will be on show, and both pupils of the Aero Club and members of the general public should find much to interest them. A fine selection of photographs, many of them coloured, of pilots who have flown from England to Australia, has been arranged on one wall, and other photographs exhibited include pictures of many machines which have made famous flights, several of the principal aerodromes in various countries, and views of the Auckland club's headquarters at Mangere. Of interest to those who have a more intimate connection with flying will be a Gypsy 111. engine of the type fitted to Puss Moths and many other light aircraft, a dismantled Gypsy I. engine, showing the working parts, a huge metal propeller from a l i airey 111. F, a wooden air-screw from a German machine captured during the war, and a wing from a Moth machine revealing the various stages of construction. There is also a display of aerial photographic apparatus. _ A large number of models of the principal types of British and foreign machines are also on view. These include such well-known types as D.H. Moths, Supermarine South amp tons, Savoia flying boats, and many service machines. Each day during the exhibition a demonstration of model aircraft construction will be given from 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.. The exhibition will close t-j-morrow week.
