LIFE GIVEN FOR CAP.
SCHOOLBOY AT FRANKTON. JUMP FROM BACK OF LORRY. FRACTURE OF THE SKULL. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Tuesday. Fatal results attended the efforts of a lad to retrieve his cap at Frankton Junction to-day. The boy, Leonard Wiiliam Hildreth, aged 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Ilildreth, of Makomako Street, Frankton, was seen at 5 p.m. riding on the back of a lorry in Forest Lake Road. The wind blew his cap off and lie jumped from the lorry to recover it, but fell and struck his head on the ground. His skull was fractured and he was dead when picked up.
