POLICE STATION WANTED.
MANGERE DISTRICT THEFTS. The, need for the establishment of a police station at Mangere was emphasised nt- a meeting of the Mnmikau County Council yesterday, when the engineer, Mr. J. R- Page, reported that in the last few weeks a quantity of benzine and about 121b. of gelignite had been stolen from the county quarry at Mangere. Mr S Rickards said that although Mangere did not have any more crime that other districts of similar size, the ever-increasing population warranted th appointment of a resident constable. It was resolved to communicate with the Police Department in the matter.
