Mr. J. Hooper, of Sydney, is at thn Star Hotel. Mr. M. D. Ritchie, of Dunedin, is af the Grand Hotel. Mr. E. C. HartridgfJ, of Wellington, is at the Hotel Cargen. Sir Edwin Mitchelson and Lady Hit. chelson left last evening for Wellington. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. 11. McAlpine, of Thames, and Mr. J. H. Burn?!, of Te Awamutu, ai# at the Royal Hotel. - Mr. W. Higgins, of Wellington, returned by the Uiimaroa yesterday from a tour of the East. Mr. S. R. Norris, of £he firm of L- D. Nathan and Company, fiimited, returned by the Uiimaroa yesterHav after an absence of nine months abroad. Mr. A. J. Parker, who was a member of the New Zealand team which participated in the Australian bowling tournament in Brisbane, returned by the Uiimaroa yesterday. The Hon. W. IT. Triggs and the Hon. J. Trevethick, M.L.C.'s. and Messrs. W. Massey, A. Harris, A. M. Samuel, G. cl Munns, H. M. Rushworth, W. E. Parry and W. J. Jordan, M.P.'s, left last evening for Wellington. Mr. W. Brooke-Smith, who has been a member of the Eden Cricket Club since 1903, was elected a life member at the 29th annual meeting of the club last evening. He is the first member to gain such distinction since 1913. Mr. Alfred Hill, the composer of Maori songs, arrived by the Uiimaroa yesterday on a three weeks' visit to the Dominion. He is staying with his niece, Mrs. Harold Everton, of Takapuna, and will leave by train this evening for Wellington.
